Margie Hughes Brock, 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, February 05, 2009 surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 80 years where she was very involved. She retired as an assistant to Dr. Sam Horner, Jr. Mrs. Brock was the daughter of the late John Hughes and Jane Million Hughes and was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Brock; son, John Robert (Bobby) Brock; son-in-law, Gerald Burrell and granddaughter, Debbie Brock McGuire. She is survived by her four children and spouses: Carol Burrell, Charles and Shirley Brock, Joe and Judie Brock and Jane and Wayne Richardson all of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Berta Hughes Gibson of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Gibson and Dr. Alan Lockerman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons, Jerry Burrell, Derrick Burrell, Dan Brock, Brian Brock, Jason Richardson and Brian Carroll will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Her family will also receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the church prior to the service.
