Helen Eileen Randolph, 96, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at her home. She was born in New York City on June 18, 1914 and was the daughter of the late Frank Sielaff and Emma von Amelunxen Sielaff. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Hugh Randolph; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Mary Sielaff; one niece; and two nephews. Following graduation from Washington Irving High School, in Manhattan, in 1931, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in NYC under a teacher of fine arts, the late Ethel Paxson. During the Great Depression she worked as a commercial artist to help support her family. She met and married Hugh Randolph from Cleveland, TN during World War II and worked for a time in commercial art in San Francisco. After the war she and her husband returned to Bradley County and lived on a farm they bought on Ladd Springs Road. She was a member of the Taylors FCE (Home Demonstration Club) for over 55 years, Cleveland Music Club for 50 years and the Cleveland Creative Arts Guild. At the time of her death she was the oldest living member of Union Grove Church of Christ where she attended for over 65 years. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Sheridan Randolph and wife, Margaret Ann and Kim Randolph and wife, Donna, all of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren and spouses, Jason Randolph and wife, Katherine of Manassas, VA, Jeremy Randolph and wife, Kathryn, Sheridan Randolph, Bethany Hogan and husband, John, all of Cleveland, Fielding Randolph and wife, Cassia of Medina, TN and Susanna Randolph of New York City; six great grandchildren, Abi, Max, Ella and Sam Randolph and Noah and Henry Hogan; three nieces; one nephew; and special devoted care-givers, JoAnn Gold, Peggy Morrow and Liz Pitman, all of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Ministers, Bill Wilkinson and Steve Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
