Travis K Taylor

Travis K. Taylor, 67, resident of Cleveland for the past twelve years, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at the home of his son in Smithton, Illinois. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict and was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church where he was involved in Awana, men?s ministries and Builders for Christ. He was a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, Delmus Taylor and two nephews: Dana McLaughlin and Noel Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mae Taylor of Cleveland; mother, Anita Taylor of Crab Orchard, KY; one son and daughter-in-law, Travis K. Taylor II and Jennifer of Smithton, IL; three grandchildren: Travis K. Taylor III, Mason I. Taylor and Cole M. Taylor, all of Smithton, IL; siblings and spouses: Joan Johnson and Robert of Crab Orchard, KY, Ronald Taylor of Cincinnati, OH, Jerry Taylor of Dayton, OH, Scott Taylor and Melonie of Standford, KY, and many other loving family members. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Candies Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jamison Work officiating. The body will be at the church thirty minutes prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery concluding with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. His family has requested that memorials may be made to Candies Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 294 Old Eureka Road NW, Charleston TN 37310.
