Bertha Mae Chancey

Bertha Mae Chancey, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a member of Michigan Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Chancey was employed as a seamstress at American Uniform Company for 25 years. She was a loving mother that will be missed by all who knew her. She loved animals especially her cats. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Clarence Wyndom Chancey; parents, Berthel Jackson and Lela Mae Jackson; her twin, Berley Jackson and sisters, Ida Mildred Jackson and Linda Greeson. She is survived by her children: Douglas Chancey of Chattanooga, Michael Chancey and wife, Stacey and Donna Chancey all of Cleveland; brothers: Charlie Jackson, Swift Jackson and Dumas Jackson all of LaFayette, GA; sisters: Betty Ledford of LaFayette, GA, June Gray of Rossville, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 29, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Floyd Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
