John Benjamin Eakin, age 65, passed away peacefully from the loving arms of his family on Monday, December 1, 2008 after losing his battle with cancer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. His career took him to M&M Mars where he worked for 29 years. After retiring he devoted all of his time to his family. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Delores Ann Eakin; three sons and spouses: Glenn Eakin, Duane Harlan Eakin and wife Tina Dionne Eakin, Randall Alan Eakin and wife Elizabeth Richel Eakin; his five grandchildren: Haily Nichole Eakin, Jonathan Alan Eakin, Dionna Frauste, Benjamin Harlan Steven Eakin and Alice Richel Delores Eakin; one brother, James Eakin all of Cleveland; one sister, Judy Denny of Chicago. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Cheatham officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the funeral home prior to the service.
