Elizabeth "Libby" Jones, 86, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the family residence. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ for 56 years, where upon hearing the gospel believed (Hebrews 11:6), repented (Luke 13:3), confessed Christ (Matthew 10:32) and was baptized (Roman 6: 3&4). She enjoyed sewing, quilting, embroidery and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. Rush and Vinnie Mantooth Rush; grandson, Gary Eugene Jones; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Jones and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ernest Jones of Cleveland; three sons: Ernest Jones, Jr. and wife, Cathrine of Gadsden, Al, Gerald Lee Jones and Joyce of Old Fort and H. Gary Jones and Angela of Cleveland; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Geneva Rush of Cleveland; three brothers: Fred Rush, Chester Rush and Herman Rush all of Old Fort and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Eastside Church of Christ with Don Clowers and Ministers Jeff Archey and Franklin Hyberger officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ernest Franklin Jones, III, Brian Jones, Lee Jones, Chris Jones, Avery Jones and Tipton Jones serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Monday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
