Charles Robert Dove Sr.

Charles Robert Dove, Sr., 69, a resident of Cleveland for the past eleven years, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in a Collegedale healthcare facility. He was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict and retiring after 22 years of service to his country. Mr. Dove was the son of the late Henry William Dove and Hattie Ross Dove and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Dove who passed away in 2004. He is survived by his son Charles R. Dove, Jr. and wife Jennifer Dove of Cleveland; five grandchildren: William Henry Dove of Tracy City, Brandy Nichole Dove of East Ridge, Zachery Dove of Cleveland, Joshua Dove of Cleveland and Eric Murray of Tracy City; one sister, Ernestine Kirkendoll of Monteagle; several nieces and nephews also survive. A gathering of friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2008 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
