Myrtle Irene Smith

Myrtle Irene Smith, 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 08, 2010, in a local hospital. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She attended West Cleveland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Smith, and her parents, William T. and Clara Floyd Patterson. Also preceding her in death were two children: Billy Patterson and Betty Jo Trantham, as well as two brothers: Albert Patterson and Paul Patterson, one sister, Mary Dalton and one grandson. She is survived by two daughters: Clara Beck and husband Alvin, and Frankie Gannaway and husband Allen, all of Cleveland; thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one sister, Rosa Mae Hitson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Luther Eslinger and Pastor Jeff Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 5 ? 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
