Oscar (Bud) Brock, 87, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in a local healthcare facility. He was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Hardwick Stove Co.(Whirlpool) after 38 years of service. He was the son of the late John Jessie and Edna Green Brock. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Virginia M. Casteel Brock; stepsons, Richard Casteel and Lester Casteel; sisters: Verlie Mae Lea and Mamie Dunn. Survivors include his daughter and spouse, Barbara and James Smith of Cleveland; grandchildren: Leslie Casteel and Tony Casteel both of Knoxville; Twana Cochran of Athens, Jimmy Smith and Mark Smith both of Cleveland; great grandchildren: Allison Cochran, Gabrielle Cochran, Lindsey Smith and Tanner Smith all of Cleveland; two sisters and their spouses: Grace and James Sampson and Jennie and Taylor Morris of Cleveland; two brothers: Charles Glen Brock of Crandall, GA and Thomas (Ed) Brock and wife, Willie (Billie) of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
