Arthur T Hamby

Arthur T. "Ott" Hamby, 81, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008 in an Athens healthcare facility. He was a well known carpenter and retired from Magic Chef in 1989. He was a member of Hiwassee Baptist Church but attended Clear Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Lillie Hamby; daughter, Pamela Hamby; three sisters, Rosie Doss, Delzie Liner, Lois Mayfield; and brother, Louis Hamby. Survivors include his wife, Irene Shamblin Hamby; son, Arthur "Gene" Hamby and wife Glennis; two grandchildren, April Hamby and Travis Hamby and his wife Devon Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Wynter, and Phillip Hamby all of Calhoun, Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Redman and Reverend Stanley Liner officiating. Interment will follow in Calhoun Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 and 2-4 p.m. Tuesday August 5, 2008 at the funeral home.
