Ruby A. Thomas, of Cleveland went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2008. She was of the Christian faith. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life. She loved people, never meeting a stranger and was an avid lover and collector of jewelry. She was a long time employee of Cleveland Community Hospital where she was honored with Employee of the Year and runner-up on several occasions. She was the daughter of the late Mary Mason and was also preceded in death by one brother, William Mason. Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, Gary Thomas of Cleveland; daughter, Kaye Thomas and her husband, Dennis of Cleveland; granddaughter, Amanda Thomas and grandson Gary Lynn; great-grandson, Jaylen Thomas all of Cleveland; one adopted daughter, Kelley Rogers and her husband, Kerry; their children: LaKeshia, Shandy, MaKinzey; great-grandchildren, Amya, Brian, BraShaun all of Cleveland; one brother, Jerry Lee Mason of Cleveland; one sister, Karen Davis of Old Fort; one uncle, Audilee Stepp and wife Mary of Brunswick, GA; brother-in-law, Bobby Lowe and wife Teresa of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Kaye Briggman of Atlanta, GA; brother-in-law, J.E. Thomas and wife Carolyn of Burgertown; one special niece, Melinda Ganoe and husband, Jamie; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Bill Hembrey, Earl Hembrey, Roger Hembrey and Jerry Graham serving as pallbearers. Dennis Elliot and Jamie Ganoe will serve as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
