Betty Louella Cannon

August 26, 1934 — September 5, 2008

Betty Louella Gibson Shelton Cannon, 74, went to be with her Lord Friday, September 5, 2008, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Elias and Lella Bell Gibson; brothers: Kermit, Maynard, Wesley, Theodore, and Lee Gibson, and sister, Katherine Stafford. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, she was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dan Miller of Brazil, South America and her son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Melissa Shelton of Cleveland Tennessee. She was the loving grandmother of ten grandchildren: Joshua Miller of Fort Worth, Texas, Ashley and husband, Aaron Gowens of Winnfield, Louisiana, Stephen Miller of Grand Prairie, Texas, Philip Miller of Decatur, Texas, Private Samuel Miller of Camp Pendleton, California, Allison Miller of Brazil, South America, Michael Shelton of Harrisburg, Illinois, Brandy and husband, Jed Harper of Harrisburg, Illinois, Ashley Hamby of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Carissa Hamby of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the proud great-grandmother of Dylan and Ethan Miller of Fort Worth, Texas, Kayla and Kyle Gowens of Winnfield, Louisiana, Brandon Shelton of Harrisburg, Illinois, Hayley and Riley Harper of Harrisburg, Illinois, Allyissa Hamby of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Christian Hamby of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3:00 pm. in the Chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Daniel Miller officiating. A private inurnment will be in Fort Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
