Chauncey George Coffey

Chauncey George Coffey, 73, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the family residence. He was a member of the Coletown Baptist Church. He was retired from the United States Postal Services. He was a veteran of the United Sates serving in the Army for 27 years and receiving the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. Mr. Coffey was the son of the late John Lester Coffey and Emily Mae Willis Coffey and was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Coffey who passed away in January of 2004; and eighteen brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He is survived by his children: Renae J. DeMouy and husband Wayne of Calhoun, GA, Jeff Coffey and wife Edie of Cleveland, Chauncey George Coffey, Jr. of Cleveland and Jennifer Coffey of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; special friend, Kim Coffey of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the funeral home prior to the service.
