Rosa Viola Harden, 91, a resident of Birchwood, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 at the home of her daughter in Georgetown. She was of the Church of God faith. Mrs. Harden was the daughter of the late John Roberts and Hattie Hardin Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Harden; three sons: Tever Harden, Chigger Harden and Fussie Harden; two great-grandchildren: Jeffery Barbee of Harrison and Bradie Harden of Athens; siblings: Polly Roberts, Bill Roberts, Mary Posey, Martha White and Flora Bettis. Survivors include her children: Susan Hall of Charleston, Ricky Harden of Birchwood, Sandra Fogle of Cleveland, Doyle Harden of Cleveland, Donnie Harden of Athens, Mollie Denton of Georgetown and Terry Harden of Birchwood; eighteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Belcher of Georgetown, Ruby Norman of Georgetown and Hazel Holder of Birchwood.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Denton and Pastor Peggy Denton officiating. Interment will follow in Grasshopper Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the funeral home and also noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the funeral home prior to the service.
