Elsie Haire

Elsie J. Haire, 99, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 07, 2008 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of the Mercy Tabernacle where she served as a secretary for several years. She was employed with Cleveland Chair Company for sixteen years. Mrs. Haire was the daughter of the late Bill Smith and Lottie Bedwell Smith and was also preceded in death by her husband, Sullivan Haire; son, Cecil Haire; daughter, Edna Ogle; two brothers; and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two children: Willie Underwood and John L. Haire and wife, Ruth all of Cleveland; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Preacherman John Wesley McCann officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Scott Norwood, Mitchell Norwood, Danny Catlett, Matthew Haire, Matt Evans and Rusty Froelich will serve as pallbearers.
