Gladys M. Hancock, 88, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in a local hospital. She was a seamstress with Hardwick Clothes for 28 years. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Hancock; parents, John E. Climer and Bertha Goins Climer; brothers, Louis Climer and Herman Climer; and sister, Irene Dowdy. She is survived by daughters, Nancy Green and Phyllis Crisp and husband, Dewayne, all of Cleveland; son, Donnie Hancock of Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren; brothers, Claude Climer and Lake Climer, both of Cleveland and Calvin Climer of Athens, TX; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sharon Mashburn of Cleveland. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2009, at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard McKeehan and the Reverend Jeannie Cissom officicating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Carter Hancock, Barrett Hancock, John Shamblin, Chuck Green, Bobby Climer and Mitch Climer serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 16, 2009, from 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
