Erma Griffith DeLay

Erma Griffith DeLay, a life long resident of Bradley County, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a member of Big Spring United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van V. DeLay; parents, C. Raymond and Ora Horton Griffith; siblings, Clyde Griffith, Hazel Griffith, Emma G. McLain, Otis Griffith, Lela G. Collette, Gladys G. Pigg, C. R. Griffith and Charles W. Griffith. She is survived by her daughter, Connie DeLay Fulmer and husband, Allen; grandson, Thomas A. Fulmer; special niece and nephew, Edna M. Wiefering and James H. McLain; and other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Lyle White officiating. Interment will be on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery with Allen Fulmer, Melvin Griffith, Thomas Fulmer, Lloyd Rogers and Sheridan Randolph serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
