Samuel “Bo” Mark Womac, Jr., 57, a resident of Charleston, passed away Friday, December 25, 2009 in a local hospital. He was a member of Graceway Chapel. He was employed as a truck driver for many years and received many awards for longest time held in safety driving and the most miles run as a driver. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his grandsons. He was a member of Bass Pro and NRA. He received a patent on a fishing pole device. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Mark Womac and Lily Francis Walker Womac and brother, Billy Ray Womac, nephew, Carl Womac and cousin, Arthur Womac. Survivors include his wife, Laura Lee Womac of Charleston; children: Sabrina Davis of Cleveland, Christopher Heith Thurman, Christina Dominique Thurman, both of Charleston, and Rob Prince of Marietta, GA; 6 grandchildren: Christain Davis, Caitlin Gartin, Kandace Gartin, Gabrielle Thurman, Cayden Samuel Hawkins and Jayden Moore; siblings: Clifford Womac and wife, Mary, Taylor Gene Womac and wife, Carol all of Charleston, Roberta Womac Powell and husband, J.B. of Riceville, James Womac and wife, Cathy, Tom Womac and wife, Carol, Glenn Jerry Womac and wife, Judy all of Cleveland, Lon Womac of Athens, Carl Edward Womac, Linda Womac Jones and husband, Charles and Joan Womac Saunders and husband, Jack all of Cleveland; 2 loving aunts, Lena Mae Womac and Pauline Essie Higgins of Whitwell; a special sister-in-law, Ana Earwood and brother-in law, Mike Earwood; great nephew, Tray Howard and many nieces and nephews that were like his own children. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2009 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronnie Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in the Womac Cemetery in Calhoun with Michael Webb, Nathan Morgan, Adam Haney, Daniel Blackwell, Sam Woods and Mark Smith serving as pallbearers and Danny Ray Womac and Daniel Womac serving as honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
