Franklin G. Hyberger, 81, a life long resident of Bradley County, passed away Friday, January 1, 2010 in a Lenoir City hospital. He was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Navy. Since 1941 he served as a minister in the Church of Christ, having served with the Patty Church of Christ for 21 years. He was employed by the Cleveland Daily Banner until opening Star Printing Company in the 1950's and remained owner/operator until his death. He was a charter member of the Oak Grove Ruritan Club and a member of the Bradley Band Boosters Club and Cleveland Community Concert Association. In his younger years he was active in the Young Republicans Club and the Cleveland Jaycees. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Bonnie Phillips Hyberger and brother, Reginald Hyberger. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, D. Lynn Hyberger of Cleveland; four daughters, Leslie Hyberger, Valerie Williams, Allison Chancy and husband, Joe and Melissa Hyberger, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Meridith Dean and husband, Jeremy of Chattanooga, Matthew McKeown and wife, Heidi of Camden, Maine, Chad Cameron and wife, April of Cleveland, Brian Chancey and wife, Adrienne of Cleveland, Toby Williams of Camden, Maine, Chris Chancey of Cleveland and Bonnie Phillips of Cleveland; six dearly beloved great grandchildren; beloved sister-in-law, Corrine Hyberger; and nephews, Corey and Andrew Hyberger of Nashville. The funeral will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastside Church of Christ with Doyle Parton, Jeff Archey and Bill Maynard officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with military honors. Matthew McKeown, Chad Cameron, Bryan Chancey, Toby Williams, Chris Chancey and Jeremy Dean will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Patty Church of Christ, Red Dockery, Ernest Jones and Jerry Neely. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
