Ricky Dewayne Walker, 49, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday morning, January 2, 2010 in a boating accident in Meigs County. He was a truck driver and an avid deer hunter. He was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Marie Smith; paternal grandparents, J.P. and Frances Walker; and maternal grandfather, Warren “Red” Dale. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 28 years, Teresa Walker of Cleveland; father, James Walker of Daytona Beach, FL; grandmother, Katherine Dale of Old Fort; children, Chris Walker and wife, Terina of Cleveland, Nicholas Walker and friend, Albert Vaughn of Dayton and Brian Goodner of Cleveland; grandchildren, Trey Walker, Christian Walker, Faith Walker and Trevor Goodner; sisters, Sharon Scoggins and husband, Ray of Old Fort and Cindy Montgomery of Cleveland; brother, Donnie “Dune” Walker and wife, Valerie of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews; and special hunting friend, Erick “Gurt” Garrett of Cleveland. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the funeral home.
