Harry Raymond Brownlee, Jr., 77, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2010 at his residence. He was of the Catholic faith. He was retired from the United States Army having served in Korea, Japan, Germany, Dominican Republic and Vietnam. He received the purple heart for combat injuries incurred in Korea. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post #2598, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 81 and the local chapter of the 40 and 8. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Raymond Brownlee, Sr. and Margaret Montgomery Brownlee and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Brownlee of Cleveland; children, Phyllis Delaney of Houston, TX and Sheron Henderson of Cleveland; grandchildren, Shawn Belcher of CA, Joseph Belcher of Cleveland and Kim Delaney, Christy Delaney and Charles Delaney, all of TX; and 7 great grandchildren. A funeral outside of Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Father Michael Maples presiding. Inurnment of his cremains will be in the V.A. section of Fort Hill Cemetery in the spring. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
