Veronica Cheney

February 18, 1953 — January 9, 2010

Veronica Cheney, 56, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday evening, January 9, 2010, in a local hospital. She was a parishioner of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church. She had a deep devotion to the Rosary. Mrs. Cheney was affectionately known as Aunt Ronnie to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Alma Freeland and brother, Roland Denver Freeland. Survivors include her husband, Harold Dean Cheney, Jr. of Cleveland; children: Stephanie Parker and husband, T.J. of Holly, Michigan, Frances Schepman and husband, Heath, Harold Dean Cheney III and wife, Crystal and Donald Cheney and fiancé, Wanda all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Kyle, Anthony, and Isabelle Parker all of Holly Michigan, D.J., Justina and James Cheney, Jesse and Helen Cheney, Savannah and Heath Schepman all of Cleveland; one sister, Muriel Quinn and husband, Donald of Cleveland; brothers: Garry Freeland, Tony Freeland of Michigan, Gordon Freeland and wife, Megan of California and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father P.J. McGinnity and Father Michael Maples presiding. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 8:00 pm.
