Marilyn Kay Clayton

July 26, 1937 — January 18, 2010

Kay Clayton, 72, dearly loved mother and a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and family who were waiting, Monday, January 18, 2010 in Rome, GA. She was a member of New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was involved in the women’s Presbytery and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the WACKOS Club of Ludlow Porch Radio Program. She was known as “Minion”. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William James Clayton; daughter, Donna “Cooky” Lowrey; and her parents, William Claude and Anna Davis Watkins. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Clayton and Deana C. Price, both of Cleveland and Anna Marie Dostie and husband, Vince of Rome, GA; 9 grandchildren, Abbey Duncan, Molly Deitch, Lucas Brown, Adam Bain, Jill Grady, Nick Lowrey, Jacob Dostie, Erica Dostie and Gracie Dostie; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Reverend John McCarty officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Jacob Dostie, Adam Bain, Jeremy Deitch, Nick Lowrey, Jeff Duncan and Lucas Brown serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. The family requests that memorials be made to the New Prospect Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 310 New Murraytown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37312.
