Hazel W. Harris, 89, a resident of Cleveland for the past four years, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2010 in a local healthcare facility. Prior to moving to Cleveland to live with her daughter and son-in-law, she had lived for sixty-one years in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy J. Harris; two sister and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Roberta Beck and husband, Gene of Cleveland, Norma Pinkstaff and husband, Bill of Lawrenceville, six grandchildren: Lorie Harris of Cleveland, Kathy Satterfield and Karen Haven of Lawrenceville, Terri Axton of New Harmony, Indiana, Mark Gerst of Evansville, Indiana and Jim Gerst, Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. “Grammy” was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was of the Methodist faith and she enjoyed watching her Christian programs on television and spending time with her family and friends. The funeral will be held at Emmons-Macy Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, IL at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial may be made to the building fund at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 3405 Peerless RD, NW, Cleveland, TN 37312.
