Edwin G. Jackson, 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Vernice Gravitt Jackson who passed away on November 4, 2012. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ray G. Jackson and Bessie Lee Pickett Jackson and brother, Billy Jackson. Survivors include his children, Larry Jackson and wife, Donna and Vickie Sharp and husband, Andy all of Cleveland; grandson and special caregiver, Derrick Jackson and wife, Diane of Cleveland; other grandchildren: Timothy Sharp and wife, Chrystal; Christina McKenzie and husband, Eric all of Cleveland; Jeff Jackson and wife, Katie of Conroe, Texas; great grandchildren: Brianna Jackson, Tucker Sharp, Baylon Jackson, Bryson Jackson, all of Cleveland; Sydney Jackson of Conroe, Texas; Lexi McKenzie of Cleveland and Ellie Jackson of Conroe, Texas; two step great-grandchildren, Daykota Smallen and Gracie Turner both of Cleveland; two sisters: Colleen Payne and Marjorie Massengale both of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the funeral home prior to the service.
