Sharon Kay Goode, long-time resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010, of complications following surgery. She was an Honors Graduate of the Cleveland State Nursing Program. Recently retired from a distinguished and successful career as a Registered Nurse, most recently for the Bradley County Health Department, she was called home by the Lord before we were prepared to let her go. Her life was filled with love and commitment to the family and friends around her. She was a woman of intense belief and opinion, passionate feelings and certainty in her approach to life. She was a steadfast friend and fiercely independent throughout her life. A lifelong Baptist, she worked to ensure that her beliefs formed the basis of her life and guided her actions. She was generous to a fault and never stopped giving of herself to comfort and support those around her. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Willie Mae Brown. She is survived by her son, David Wagner and wife, Annissa of Chattanooga; three grandsons, Nathan Naylor, Jacob Wagner and Spencer Wagner, all of Chattanooga; sisters: Carol Richardson and husband, Allen of Lynnhaven, Florida, Pamela Hill Moss and husband, Bill of Cleveland and Lisa Davis and husband, David of Lake City, Florida; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. prior to the service. We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Goode family guestbook at www.ralphbuckner.com.
