Katherine Dale

Katherine M. Dale, 84, of Old Fort, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. She was a member of Ladd Springs Church of God for 57 years where she was a charter member and their oldest member. Her life was committed to her church and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren “Red” Dale; parents, Henry and Dollie Taylor Swaggerty; daughter, Mildred Marie Smith; son, Donald Lee Dale; grandson, Ricky Walker; two brothers, Clyde and Raymond Swaggerty; and three sisters, Dovie Hicks, Zonie Norman and Elvie Randolph. She is survived by her children, Jerry Dale and wife, Erma of Cleveland and David Dale and wife, Pam of Old Fort; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Dale of Cleveland; son-in-law, W.C. “Fuzz” Smith of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Sharon Scoggins, Randy Dale, Donnie Walker, Cindy Montgomery, Melanie Dispain, Joseph Dale and Casey Dale; 15 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister, Virgie Torbett of Chattanooga; brother, Melburn Swaggerty of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Hollifield and the Reverend Steve Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery with Joseph Dale, Arthur Dale, William Dale, Donnie Walker, Ray Scoggins and Chris Walker serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
