Ernest E Rathbone

Ernest E. “Easy” Rathbone, 80, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 in a local hospital. He retired as a MSGT from the United States Air Force after 23 years having served in Korea and Vietnam. He also worked for the United States Postal Service in Tampa, FL for 20 years. He was a member of South Cleveland Church of God. His hobbies included private piloting and sky diving. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erva Ernest and Dortha Franklin Rathbone. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Rathbone; four children, David Rathbone of Chattanooga, Steven Rathbone and wife, Dina LeRoy of Pipestem, WV, Kerry Rathbone and wife, Gale of Dade City, FL and Sherry Smith and husband, Jerald of Titusville, FL; 8 grandchildren, Chad, Travis, Brandon, Brittany and Lauren Rathbone, Jessica Conti and husband, Joshua, Candace Hatcher and husband, Christopher and Amanda Bartlett and husband, Chad; two step-grandchildren, Davin DeLong and Nicki DeLong; and two great grandsons, Christian Hatcher and Evan Conti Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at South Cleveland Church of God with Pastor Chris Moody, Pastor Carl Hobbs and the Reverend Dr. Jerald Smith officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. His family will receive friends on Sunday, June 13, 2010, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service at the church.
