JOSEPH HERMAN SCHAFER

Joseph Herman Schafer passed away March 8, 2013 in South Beloit, IL. He was born on May 29, 1961 in Stillwater, OK and was currently residing in Cleveland, TN with family. He served over 20 years in the U.S. Army and fought in the Gulf War. Each person who knew Joe lost a piece of himself or herself when Joe passed away, but Joe will always be with us in our heart, mind and soul. Joe is in heaven (a place of supreme happiness) and will always be watching over us. Joe is an angel of God. Amen. He was preceded in death by his father, William R. Schafer and father-in-law, Leonard Zanker. He is survived by his wife, Milissa P. Schafer; son, Michael A. Zanker; daughter, Vanessa T. Schafer; mother, Ella L. Judge-Johnson; sisters: Patricia Schafer, Linda Schafer, Judy Schafer, Diana Grant and Teresa Simon, all of Oklahoma City, OK; mother-in-law, Norna Zanker; six sisters-in-law: Tina Dunmore, Ajena Henderson, Rebecca Dill, Natile Shelton, Jesica Zanker and Aleisha Wallace all of Cleveland, TN. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:30 A.M. Friday, April 12, 2013 in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
