Marty Runion

February 16, 1965 — June 3, 2013

Marty Runion, 48, left this world suddenly and too young for reasons known only to the Lord. Perhaps one day when Marty is reunited with those who loved him the most, the Lord will explain those reasons. Until then, may the Lord grant those left behind with peace, acceptance and understanding that He never burdens us with more than we can carry. At birth a life was given until the Lord decides to call it home. His life was a light to those that knew him. Marty has left a legacy ? look around and you?ll see it. Marty is not lost to those who hold God?s promises of eternal life in their hearts. Marty was a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church. He was employed by Airgas. He enjoyed hunting bear and boar. He was an avid baseball and softball player and was an assistant coach to eight and under Twisters Girls? Softball. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. "Tommy" Runion; niece, Rebekah Grace Runion Cooley; grandmother, Willie Marie Blackwell. Survivors include his loving wife, DeAnna Runion of Cleveland; mother, Mary Ann Runion of Cleveland; daughter, Jessica Runion Bonner of Cleveland; step children: Kaylan Withrow and Jacob Withrow both of Cleveland; three sisters: Tonya Visage and husband, Buster, Kristi Perry, Robin Gibby and husband Kelly all of Cleveland; grandmother, Blanche Brooks of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Cameron, Pastor Lee Ingram and Pastor Tracy Fansler officiating. Interment will follow in Samples Memorial Cemetery with Stephen Mowery, Bo Ray, Mitch Borden, Jacob Withrow, Sam Cooley, Tony Ballew, Adam Hall, Dale Swafford and Chris Albritton serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
