Katie Mae Wolfe

Katie Mae Wolfe, 88, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 at the home of her daughter in Athens, Tennessee. She was a long time resident of Ooltewah, TN. She attended the Fairview Baptist Church on Snowhill Road. She was a blessing to many people, often taking food, helping those in need and offering words of encouragement. She was a beautiful person inside and out and was loved by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lee Wolfe and grandson, Jason Wolfe; father, Sam Sanford Redd, mother, Louanna Bell; siblings, Stella Redd, Thomas Redd, Beatrice Cate, Edd Redd, Troy Redd, Leona Redd and Robert Redd. She is survived daughter, Edna Dean Newell and her husband Von Newell of Athens, TN by her son Larry Wolfe and his wife Linda Whitener Wolfe of Ooltewah; grandsons: Herbert Wenck and Jimmy Williams Wolfe of Ooltewah ; great grandson, Liam Wenck of Etowah; brother, Sam Redd, Jr. of Cleveland, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Wynn and Jerry Stevens conducting the service. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery on Snowhill Road with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at the funeral home.
