Mack Evans, 78, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in a Cleveland hospital. He was of the Church of God faith. He was retired from Olin Corporation of Joliet, Illinois after thirty years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. Mr. Evans was the son of the late Arthur and Lula Ellis Evans and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Wilberta Pruitt and Inez Tallent. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Evans of Cleveland; one son, Douglas Evans of Cleveland; two brothers and spouses: J.D. and Mildred Evans of Cleveland and Birch and Sharon Evans of Monroe County; sister, Alicene Dunn of Monroe County; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Herman Ard officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
