Delmar L Stinnett

August 11, 1931 — November 2, 2010

Delmar L. Stinnett, 79, a resident of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in a Cleveland hospital with his loving wife beside him. He was a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church for over fifty years where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He was employed with American Uniform Company for over 25 years and a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea. Mr. Stinnett was the son of the late Julius D. Stinnett and Hattie Mullinax Stinnett and was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty Stinnett of Cleveland; two sisters: Betty Caylor and Virginia Eliff both of Cleveland; sister-in-law and husband, Teresa and David Kerr of Louisville, TN; sisters-in-law, Doris Howard of Cleveland and Gerda Howard of Germany; brother-in-law, Roger Howard of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor James Vaughn and Pastor Mark Cameron officiating. Interment will be held at noon on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pastor Lee Ingram officiating at the graveside service. A military service and a white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Randy Davis, Jamie Gladson, Kenny Pierce, Lester Hudgins, Frank Jenkins, Abe Hayes, Elbert Austin and Charles Beard will serve as pallbearers. The adult Sunday School Class of Samples Memorial Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the funeral home.
