L. Shane Hancock, 55, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010. He was born July 30, 1954 and was a life long resident of Cleveland. He was a brilliant electrician, being licensed at the young age of 21 for residential, commercial and industrial electrical work. He also was the founder of Cleveland Electrical Services, as well as Hancock Electric. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lebanon Baptist Church since childhood. He was preceded in death by his parents, L. Jack Hancock and Kay Geren Hancock Miller and brother, Keith Hancock. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra Hancock of Cleveland; daughter, Christen Wood and granddaughter, Breanna Wood, both of Florida; son, Hunter Hancock of Cleveland; brothers, Brian Miller of New York, Steven Miller, David Miller and Tracy Hancock, all of Cleveland; sisters, Ginger H. Gobble, Susan H. Howard, both of Cleveland; stepmother, Elizabeth Hancock of Cleveland; in-laws, Becky and Buddy Burrell of Ocoee; step-son, Dustin Nichols; special cousin, Irene Clark; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with his brother, Steve Miller officiating. Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery with Tracy Hancock, Mark Geren, Rick Geren, Victor Higgs, David Miller and Paul Brown serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
