Edith P. Derrick, 76, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away, Friday, February 5, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Edith was a member of the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club. She work at Hardwick Clothes for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William H. Derrick; one sister, Barbara Johnson, and special friends Dib and Cora Ballard. Survivors include daughters; Linda Morris and husband Bill, Donna Whitehead and special friend Mark Chapman; son Ron Derrick and wife Marlene; grandson and wife Jason and Shantae Morris and their children Ryder and Nash; granddaughter and husband Tangie and Justin Brewer and their son Landon; grandson Stoney Whitehead and his children Ty Blaine, Rylee, and Gage, and special friend Sherrra Anderson and son Kaj Kage Whitehead; grandson Joe Derrick and his children Kimiko and Heaven-Leigh Derrick; granddaughter Elisabeth Derrick, all of Cleveland; two sisters, Ruby Cronan and Pat Lee and husband Neil, all of Cleveland; and two brothers, Don Segraves and Bud Segraves, both of Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2010, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Richard McKeehan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens with a White Dove Release Ceremony concluding the service. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cleveland Amateur Radio Club. Her family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 2010, at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
