John “Willard” Richmond, 93, a former resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in the TN State Veterans’ Home. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. He was formerly employed with Ford’s Dearborn Plant in Michigan and Hudson Motor Car Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Callie Gryder Richmond; brothers: Thomas ‘Tom”‘ Richmond, Samuel Richmond, Griffin Richmond, George Richmond and twin brother, Millard Richmond; sisters: Martha Workman, Pearl Richmond and Clara Phillips. Survivors include his brother, Winston Brackett Richmond and wife, Virginia June of Nashville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Mt. Bethel Cemetery and with the Reverend Max Morris officiating. The service will conclude with military honors. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home prior to the service.
