Warren Dwight Burke, 61, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in a local hospital. He was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. As an award winning dairy farmer, he and his wife, JoAnn were selected to represent Tennessee Valley Dairymen at the Tennessee Council of Cooperatives’ Young Couples’ Conference. He served on the Bradley County Soil Conservation Board. More recently, he and his wife owned and operated Burke’s Berries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren G. and Ola Mae Dunn Burk. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Burke of Cleveland; children: Warren Burke II and wife, Marisol of Cleveland; Martin Swany and wife, Lynn of Newark, Delaware; Geremy Burke and Stephanie Burke both of Cleveland; 7 grandchildren: Amelia Burke, Sarah Burke, Victoria Swany, Cole Swany, Noah Swany, Xander Burke and Spencer Williams; sisters: Mary Bagley and husband, Charles; Phyllis Ingle Suits; brother, George Burk and wife, Lana all of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Northside Presbyterian Church with the Reverend David Tullock and the Reverend Winston Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in New Friendship Cemetery with his three sons: Warren Burke, Martin Swany, Geremy Burke and Josh Ingle, Donnie Burk and Bill Burk serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service.
