Mildred J Sneed

J. Sneed, 96, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 in a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1913. She was a loving mother, grandmother and neighbor and was well known for her home cooked meals. She was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church since 1941 and was their oldest member. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie B. Sneed; son, Owen Wesley Sneed; grandson, Randall Ray Hooper; great great granddaughter, Lauren Macey Withrow; parents, James and Elizabeth Jackson; four brothers, James, Lee, Arlie and Hoyle Jackson; and four sisters, Pearl Wilson, Mary Morton, Kitty Minnis and Bonnie Adams. She is survived by her sons, Charles Sneed and wife Faye and Jim Sneed and wife, Betty, all of Cleveland; daughters, Betty Hooper and husband, Ray, Reba Webb, Barbara McCallum and husband, Ronny, Linda Gentry and husband, Eddie and Shirley Gaylor and husband, Robert, all of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Anne Sneed of Cleveland; grandsons, Dale, Danny, Jeff, Tim, Tracy and Andy Sneed, Wesley Hooper, Mike, Denny and Chuck Webb, Tyler Gentry, and Bobby Gaylor, all of Cleveland; granddaughters, Teresa Allen, Karen Wright, Kelli Suits, Cindy Helton, Christy Hartley and Susan Humbard, all of Cleveland and Lisa Duarte of Murfreesboro; 43 great grandchildren; 26 great great grandchildren; one brother, John Jackson of Chattanooga; one sister, Lucy Williams of Life Care Center of Red Bank; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church with Pastor Ricky Vaughn and Pastor James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
