Ruth Glasscock Wesson

Ruth Naomi Glasscock Wesson was welcomed into Heaven on June 21, 2010. She was 95 years old. She was a devoted pastor?s wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Sanctuary Bible Teacher, pianist, southern cook, youth leader, and mentor to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph McNeill and Annie Dove Nix Glasscock; six (6) sisters; three (3) brothers; her husband, the Rev. Talton Braxton Wesson, Sr.; two (2) sons, Talton Braxton Wesson, Jr., and Dr. Paul David (P.D.) Wesson, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Sarah Conn Wesson; and granddaughter, Chardonna Wesson. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Steve Wesson (Sally) of Huntsville, AL; daughter, Ruthi W. Souders (David) of Cleveland, TN; and daughter-in-law, Linda M. Mahan of Katy, TX. She is the grandmother of Charles Wesson (Kathy) of Cincinnati, OH; Mike Wesson (Summer) of Cleveland, TN; Debbie Sheeks (Randy) of Marietta, GA, Stephanie Anderson (Jason) of McDonough, GA; Dr. Paul David Wesson, II of Kenton, OH; Cameron Wesson (Megan) of Charlotte, VT; Candy Wiggins (Todd) of Cleveland, TN; Carissa Sapp (Stephen) of Cleveland, TN; and Jon Souders (Tachia) of Cleveland, TN. She is great-grandmother of Brittany and Grace Wesson; Ian, Parker, and Claire Wesson; Elizabeth and Meredith Sheeks; Luke, Corban, and Caleb Anderson; Alexandra Wesson; Braxton and Braeden Wiggins; and Britain Sapp. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at Valley View Church of God in Sylacauga, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 in the sanctuary following the receiving of friends. The Rev. Mitch Maloney, pastor of the North Cleveland Church of God, in Cleveland, Tennessee, will be officiating. Grandsons will be serving as pall bearers. Memorials may be made to Gideons, International. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
