Veta Marie Rogers

Veta Marie Rogers, 96, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in a local hospital. She worked at the Cleveland Enamel Plant for 35 years. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, but attended Ridgeview Baptist Church. She loved to work in her vegetable garden, work puzzles and watch the Atlanta Braves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Travis Rogers, who passed away 58 years ago; her parents, Robert and Annie Hibberts Willson; twin sister, Leta Boyd; and other sisters, Beulah Willson, Grace Thomas and Ruth Still. She is survived by her daughters, Janet Rogers and Louise Allison, both of Cleveland; grandchildren, Terry Gaston and wife, Melanie and Tonya Barger and husband, Steve, all of Cleveland; great grandchildren, Taylor Thompson, Alexia Thompson, Jared Gaston and Clark Gaston; sister, Robbie Rogers of Benton; brothers, Bill Willson and Richard Willson, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Luther Eslinger and Pastor Josh Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Terry Gaston, Jared Gaston, Clark Gaston, Taylor Thompson, Johnny Steel and Wilson Rogers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Thompson, Steve Barger and her nephews. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
