Leroy Robert Osborne Sr.

March 4, 1924 — August 8, 2010

Leroy Robert Osborne, Sr. 86, a life long resident of McDonald, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the family residence. He was a member of the Valley Head Methodist Church and was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Boys Club. He was the owner and founder of Modern Way Publishing. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving overseas in World War II in North Africa and the Invasion of Anzio. Mr. Osborne was the son of the late Ralph Summers Osborne and Gertrude Stephenson Osborne and was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Osborne. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Osborne of McDonald; one son Dr. Robert Osborne, Jr. and wife, Chala Osborne of Johnson City; six grandchildren: Lindsey, Christian, Kate, Brennan, Parkes and Destin; brother, Ralph Osborne and wife Judy Osborne of Cleveland; three sisters and spouses: Betty and J.W. Price, Patsy “Pat” and Lawrence Jenkins and Judy and Buddy Lee all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with full military honors. Tommy “Suds” Barrett, James Beverly, Corkey McGowan, David Ingram, Doyle Parmer and Andy Williams will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release will conclude the service. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
