Hoyt J. Tinsley, 86, a resident of Charleston, passed away Saturday, August 21,2010, in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired from Y-12 in Oak Ridge after 25 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, June and Jessie Schabell Tinsley, and a brother and sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vera Roberson Tinsley of Charleston; one brother, Danny Tinsley of Cleveland; three sisters: Pauline Adams of Calhoun, GA, Glenda Lea and Sadie Ware, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. A grave side service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Daniel White officiating. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
