Bennie Lea Swafford, 88, a resident of Cleveland passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Ben F. Mull and the late Bertha Curtis Mull of the Tasso community. Bennie was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. “C.L.” Swafford and son, Ronnie C. Swafford; sisters: Lena Longwith, Stella Benson, Elmina Leamon, Beulah Picklesimer, Pauline Mull, Elizabeth Davis, Gladys Gates and Edith McCormick; and brothers: Carl Mull and Claude “Sonny” Mull.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Swafford and husband, David of Georgetown; four grandsons: Richard Swafford and wife, Lisa and Jason “Shane” Swafford and wife, Crystal, all of Cleveland, David “Travis” Swafford and wife, Deena of Old Fort and Scott Swafford and wife, Cheryl of Georgetown; three great-granddaughters: Sarah Swafford of Cleveland, Miranda Swafford of Old Fort, and Ashlee Swafford of Georgetown.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Reverend Clarence Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Tasso United Methodist Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Serving as pallbearers are: Richard Swafford, David “Travis” Swafford, Jason “Shane” Swafford, Jerry Longwith, Kenneth Leamon and Jeremy Stewart. Greg Swafford will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
