Joan Suits Henderson

Joan Suits Henderson, 78, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in a local healthcare facility. She attended Red Clay Church of God. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed sewing and crocheting and adored her grandchildren. She retired from Schering Plough after 10 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles N. Henderson; parents, Dennis Suits and Gertrude Eslinger Suits.
She is survived by her children: Deniece Scott and husband, Gary of Bryson City, NC, Chuck Henderson and wife, Sandra of Cleveland, Karen Boltniew and husband, Victor of Cleveland, and Renee Yarbrough and husband, Bruce of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Cassie Hall and husband, Travis, Ben Henderson and wife, Ashley of Athens, TN, Rachel Boltniew, Abby Boltniew, Ryan Boltniew, Shelby Yarbrough, and Dexter Yarbrough; siblings: Kenneth Suits and wife, Eleanor of Huntsville, AL; Gloria Smoot and husband, Larry of Choctaw, OK; and Daina Suits of Cleveland.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. Chuck Henderson, Gary Scott, Victor Boltniew, Bruce Yarbrough, Ben Henderson, and Travis Hall will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Boltniew and Dexter Yarbrough. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr., Chattanooga, TN 37421.
