Raymond E. Arthur, 66, a resident of Copperhill, TN, passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Mr. Arthur was born on April 12, 1948, in Cleveland, TN, to the late Ralph “Bud” Arthur and Myrtle Ballew Arthur of Cleveland, TN. Raymond was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Navy on the DG-31 USS Decatur destroyer from 1967-1969.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Fay Williamson Arthur of Copperhill, TN; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Shannon Arthur; one grandson, Raymond Arthur III; one granddaughter, Abigail Rayne Arthur of Dallas, GA; two sisters, Betty Ingram and Brenda Reynolds; four brothers, David, Dennis, Junior, and Jerry Arthur; one sister-in-law, Robin Williamson Isom of Bradenton, FL; and many nieces and nephews in Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America at http://www.vva.org/support.html, or mailed to 8719 Colesville Road, Suite 100, Silver Spring, Maryland.
In honoring Raymond’s wishes, no services or funeral will be held.
Arrangements were entrusted to Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory.
