Margaret Alice Earls Bancroft
January 20, 1938 — March 18, 2015
Margaret Alice Earls Bancroft, a resident of McDonald, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the family residence. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Hardwick Clothes. She loved bowling, square dancing, traveling and life in general.
Mrs. Bancroft was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stacey Lafawn Bancroft; parents, Thomas Earls and Ethel Lettner Earls; three brothers, Thurman Earls, Thomas Earls and Harold Earls.
She is survived by her children: Mila Ogle of McDonald, Karen Bancroft Goins and husband, Steve, Stacie Nope and husband, Allen, Kristi Burke and husband, Julian (Jr) all of Cleveland; nine grandchildren, Rachael Morrison, Katie Rakestraw, Trista Henderson, Matthew Curtis, Devan Curtis, Evan Nope, Gabriel Nope, Ezekiel “Zeke” Burke, and Ema Burke; eight great-grandchildren, Langlee Morrison, Eli Morrison, Madison Curtis, Malloree Fowler, Mason Fowler, Kylie Curtis, Rylan Curtis, and Stacey Curtis; one brother, Paul Earls and wife, Mary of Fredricksburg, VA; three sisters, Louise Ellis, Lena Mae Gray and Barbara Higgins and husband, George all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Julian Burke, Jr and Reverend Kenneth Nope officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Matthew Curtis, Shane Morrison, Neal Colbert, David Henderson, Zeke Burke and Allen Nope serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
