Carlos “Charley” Maldonado Reyes, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away March 19, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Austin, TX, and later lived in Pontiac, MI, before moving to Cleveland in 1984. He worked for General Motors in Michigan for 30 years as an automotive mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the United Auto Workers.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ezequiel Reyes and Maria Maldonado; brothers, Rudolpho Reyes, Moses Reyes; sisters, Mary Harrell, Minnie Reyes, and Rebecca Gutierrez.

He is survived by four children, Charley Reyes and wife Mary of Tucson, AZ, Connie Reyes, of Tucson, AZ, Michael R. Reyes and wife Stephanie, Claremore, OK, and Manuel Reyes and wife Krystn, of Claremore, OK; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Julie Rose of Dryden, MI; brothers, Ezequiel Reyes and wife Sylvia of Chattanooga, TN, Ruben Reyes of Oxford, MI; sister-in-law, Alice Reyes of Charleston, TN; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Cheatham officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Charley Reyes, Jr., Michael Reyes, Manuel Reyes, Joshua Reyes, Ryan Reyes, and Jordan Reyes serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
