Claiborne Kerr Jr.

August 19, 1929 — December 10, 2014

Claiborne Kerr, Jr., 85, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in a local hospital.  He was a member of East Side Church of Christ.  He was an avid lover of boxing.

 Mr. Kerr was the son of the late Claiborne Kerr, Sr. and Willie Mae Baker Kerr; he was also preceded in death by his three brothers and two sisters.

 He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Catherine Kerr of Cleveland; five children:  Belinda Carlock and husband, Bobby, Deborah Johnson and husband, Lester, Karrie Hyatt and husband, Russell, Randall Kerr , and Ty Kerr; nine precious grandchildren, Kristi Renner (Jeremy), Terra Gobble (Taylor), Mandy Cheatham (Tooter), Heather Dias (Jamie), Jeremy Hyatt (Amy), Josh Kerr (Alicia), Krista Kerr, Chris Kerr and Nina Kerr; several beloved great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Jeff Archey and Minister Bill Maynard officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Tommy Richmond, Taylor Gobble, James Cheatham, Jim Gold, Hershel Higgins and Roger Crick serving as pallbearers.  A white dove release will conclude the service.

 His family will receive friends from 12-3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.

 The family suggests memorials be made to the East Side Church of Christ Building Fund, PO Box 1434, Cleveland, TN 37364-1434.
