Thomas D. Stamey

Thomas D. “Tommy” Stamey, 65, a resident of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 in a Georgia hospital.  He was a former resident of Cleveland, TN. He enjoyed fishing, Braves baseball, Tennessee Volunteers football, poker with friends and bingo with his sisters.  He was known as the best “Cheer Dad in Gwinnett County.”  

Mr. Stamey was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lee and Ruby Goins Stamey; daughter, Angela Stamey Guffey; and a sister Debbie Stamey Hall.  

He is survived by his wife, Linda Renee Billingsley Stamey; children and spouses, Denise (Johnny) Graham of Cleveland, Thomas Scott Stamey, of Lawrenceville GA, Jennifer (Sal) De’lia of Parkland, FL and Katherine Stamey “his little princess” of Lawrenceville, GA; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Romines, Beverly Abee, and Janice Higgins; and sister-in-law, Samantha Gay (Dwayne) Yawn; and mother–in-law, Betty Gay, all of Cleveland.  

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home on Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eugene Kilgore officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  

His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
