Lois Paralee Randall Taylor, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1936 in Sweetwater, Tennessee, and graduated from Sweetwater High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She married Robert Fleming Taylor, and joined Broad Street United Methodist Church in 1965. She had lived in Cleveland since moving here in 1965.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Jackson Randall and Nancye Peck Axley Randall of Sweetwater; brother, Samuel Jackson Randall, Jr., of Greeneville, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; her children, Claudia Taylor Parker and husband Danny of Cleveland, Robert Randall Taylor and wife Amanda of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Austin (Elizabeth) Parker of Ooltewah, Saige Parker, Rylan (Brianna) Parker of Shreveport, LA, Taylor Parker of Cleveland, and Caroline Taylor of Nashville; one great-grandchild, Lily Claire Parker; cousin, James Axley of Roswell, GA; one nephew, Samuel Jackson Randall IV of Gray, TN; and one niece, Eliza Koella of Townsend, TN.
She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority at UTK. She was a secondary school teacher and taught in Auburn, AL. She was active in her church and served in many positions. She was active in numerous civic organizations and was a member of the Cleveland Board of Education for 15 years. She served as President of the Tennessee School Boards Association and received The Hal Hennard Award for Outstanding Achievement.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Randy Martin officiating. A visitation will immediately follow until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
